Training Fundamentals
Intro to Pistol Training
This comprehensive course provides hands-on training and the basic knowledge necessary to safely handle, load, fire, and maintain most types of semi-automatic pistols.
Duration – 3 hours
Equipment List
- Quality functional semi-automatic pistol – Full size and compact pistols only (semi-auto center fire pistols only – revolvers or .22 caliber pistols are not allowed)
- No micro pistols or pocket pistols to include: P238, P938, P365, M&P Shield, Glock 43, etc.
- 3 magazines
- Magazine pouch
- Dominant side, hip-mounted holster or dominant side, belt-mounted holster
- Please wear long pants with pockets and belt loops, a sturdy 1.5″ belt, closed toe shoes (no flip flops or sandals), and a crew neck (T-shirt) or button-up shirt (no low-cut neckline)
- Wraparound eyewear with polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription
- Electronic hearing protection, earmuffs or earplugs
- Ammo – 250 rounds FMJ

Intro to Pistol Red Dot Training
This course teaches the student, through the Modern Samurai Project’s principle of training, safety, drawing from and recovering to the holster, stance, grip, sight alignment and sight picture as it applies to a Red Dot pistol trigger control and reloading. This course will also highlight the many benefits when shooting with a pistol with red dot and the fundamentals of zeroing the red dot

Intro to Rifle Training
This introductory level course provides the student with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to safely handle, load, fire, and clear common semi-automatic rifles. Time is spent both in the classroom and on the firing range in a comfortable learning environment.
Duration – 3 hours
Equipment List
- Quality functional semi-automatic carbine with sling (AR 15 platform)
- Cal – 22LR, 223/556 (No green tip), 308 Win
- 3 magazines (minimum)
- Magazine pouches
- Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning
- Clothing suitable for training in any weather
- Shooting gloves (optional based on student comfort)
- Knee and elbow pads (optional based on student comfort)
- Wraparound eyewear with polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription
- Electronic hearing protection, earmuffs or earplugs
- Ammo – 220 rounds
